We would like to invite all patients and groups, in the 'invisible disease' community, to participate in the the Banner of Hope Project. UPDATE: The Banner of Hope is a project made from sections of pillowcases decorated and submitted by members of the 'invisible disease' community. Volunteers attached the pieces together horizontally. The results of this project can be seen in the slideshow seen below. The banner is an ongoing project made from sections of pillowcases (or other easily obtained material), with each finished piece 19 1/2" by 14". Volunteers will attach the pieces together on the 14" side, (horizontally). Each piece should be hemmed 1/4 inch all the way around and embroidered, appliqued or marked somehow with your name or initials, state/country, and date of onset. If you wish, you can also add the initials of the illness(es) you've been diagnosed with. Here's what Cinda Crawford said of her opportunity to display the banner at the "Living Well with Fibromyalgia" conference in Virginia: "The Banner of Hope was well received as a testament of the courage, love for each other and negatives/turned/positive of these incredible illnesses. Many at our seminar looked at the "banner" in awe with mouths hung open, tears in their eyes and moved beyond words. It seemed to bring the whole audience together in spirit. As I unpacked the "banner" to view it the first time, I was overwhelmed by the lives represented in its being. I sent it back home to the caretakers of this miraculous project with mixed emotions. I really didn't want to let it go."
